Now that the Trump administration is telling America that communism, once again, poses a grave threat to US “national security,” the question naturally arises: Will the US government revive the programs that protected us from the Reds during the 45 years of the national-security establishment’s old Cold War racket?
If so, right at the top of the list will undoubtedly be a renewal of the McCarran Act, which was also known as the Internal Security Act of 1950. As a premier part of the old Cold War racket, its purpose was to target domestic communists. Isn’t that what we need today to protect us and keep us safe from the Reds?
After all, look around you. There are Reds everywhere, just like in the 1950s and 1960s. There is communist Cuba, a dagger pointed at America’s neck from only 90 miles away. Cuba’s massive, powerful army, navy, and air force are undoubtedly poised for an imminent invasion of Miami, with plans to move up the Eastern Seaboard and take over Washington, D.C. There are also the Democratic Socialists of America and, even worse, they are getting elected, just like Salvador Allende in Chile in 1970, who automatically posed a grave threat to US national security, even though he was thousands of miles away. Don’t forget that the Democratic socialists are right here at home and that they are winning elections!
The McCarran Act required communist front organizations to register with the federal government. It also prohibited communists from working in “defense” industries or even holding federal jobs. And here’s the best part: It authorized emergency preventive detention of suspects during internal security emergencies. Don’t forget that we already have ICE detention centers for immigrants that could quickly be converted into detention centers for communists and socialists. And as we have learned, the president can declare an emergency any time he wants.
Here’s how a renewal of the McCarran Act could be used to keep us safe from what is obviously a reactivation of the old international communist conspiracy to take over the world that was centered in Moscow. After all, as we were told a few years ago after Russia invaded Ukraine in response to NATO expansionism, the United States is again faced with the all-powerful Russian bear quickly defeating Ukraine, conquering Europe, England, South America, Central America, Mexico, and then coming to get us here in the United States — in combination with the Cuban army of course. Maybe the Nicaraguan army too — don’t forget that they too are part of the international communist conspiracy.
To help keep us safe, the federal government could require every single American Democratic Socialist to register with the federal government. Heck, to really keep us safe, it could require every single American socialist to register — Democratic or not.
Congress could then subpoena every one of those registered threats to national security to testify before a special “Keep America Safe (KAS)” congressional committee, where they could be required to answer the following questions:
1. Have you now or have you ever been a member of the US Communist Party or the Democratic Socialists of America?
2. Have you ever expressed any support for any of the crown jewels of American socialism — Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, or public (i.e., government) schooling?
3. Do you know of people who have ever expressed sympathy for socialism, communism, or socialist programs, and, if so, what are their names, addresses, and cell phone numbers?
The federal government could also send notices to the employers of these communists and socialists, exhorting them to immediately terminate their employment in the hope that they will leave the country to avoid starvation.
Unquestionably, reenacting the McCarran Act and other measures that were part of the old Cold War racket would help keep us safe from the Reds. But there are obviously other big problems: What about the Muslims, who are coming to America to establish their worldwide caliphate and impose Sharia law on communities all across America? What about the drug cartels, who are attacking us with illegal drugs? What about the terrorists, who are unleashing violence because they hate us for our “freedom and values”? And what about the illegal immigrants, who continue to invade and occupy our land? Oh, I almost forgot one: What about the civil-rights movement, which the FBI steadfastly maintained was a fifth columnist for the commies during the old Cold War racket?
Wow! We sure are lucky to have the national-security state — the Pentagon, the vast military-industrial complex, the enormous empire of domestic and foreign military bases, the CIA, the NSA, and the FBI. How else would we be protected and kept safe from all these grave threats to national security? The question is: Will Congress and the President do their part in keeping us safe from the Reds by reenacting the McCarran Act and other measures that were part of the national-security establishment’s old Cold War racket?
